Club Champs 2.0

Another great turn out for our second Club Champs of the year, again organised by Richard. With 21 players, we had three teams in timed matches. Many thanks to Karen for scoring and for Carl as our referee. After some fierce games, the team captained by Angelo won the day and took away the coveted 14cm plastic trophy. Duncan S took server of the day and Angelo took passer of the day through votes by the rest of the players.

Club Mini Champs a great success

It was a really good turnout with 20 players playing in 3 teams. Richard had done a great job coordinating and organising things, even constructing really equal teams which meant all the matches were pretty close. But in the end it was obviously a fix (!) with Richard's team winning the final!

Duncan S was awarded player of the tournament (quiet and steady) as identified by Karl (ref) and Karen (scorer).

A really good night, which we'll be repeating again later in the season.

Seeking Beginner Friendly Fixtures

Due to our rather successful summer recruitment campaign, Kings Langley have a large number of players looking to play in a small number of games. Rather than have people sat on the bench, we've decided to split our Div 2 squad between the existing "Knights" team and a new development squad we're going to call the "Rooks".

Fixtures

All our fixtures are now up on the calendar.

There are 3 teams we haven't arranged Kings games with yet - Watford, Harriers and a new team from Cranfield.

We also need to re-arrange home matches planned for 20th November as the hall is no longer available.

The Knights will also have a friendly vs RSS at some stage in October.

If we don't have a match, we intend to train, but I will add those dates to the calendar when we have all the fixtures finalised.

Teams for this season

It looks like we don't have enough confirmed ladies for a ladies' team this year, so we're entering two teams in the men's league instead. Kings Langley Kings will essentially be the same team as last year's men's team and will be captained by Thierry as agreed at the AGM. Kings Langley Knights will be a new team made up of "everybody else" who wants to play including any ladies who are interested and we've yet to decide who captains that.

We'll update the site when we've had that confirmed with the HVA. The aim will be to have a ladies' team again next season.

Time to step up!

The Club starts training this Sunday at RSS in Kings Langley, 5-7pm and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible. This session will be free to everybody. Normal fees, which have been reduced for the coming season, can be seen on our website.   We expect to enter at least one ladies’ and one men’s team in the Herts League. That will depend entirely on the number of people interested in playing! Please get in touch asap if you think you'd like to play for us this season.
